Viewers Ask Dr. Oz, “Is It Safe to Bleach Your Teeth Every Day?”

America’s favorite doctor, Dr. Oz, discusses with Oprah that bleaching teeth is one of the common cosmetic procedures here in the United States. Hydrogen peroxide is used in teeth whitening products and it is the major ingredients that removes teeth stains and makes your teeth whiter and brighter.
Teeth whitening procedures are very safe, but over processing can wear out your teeth’s enamel and damage your teeth and also harm your gums. The key for teeth whitening is to only use a teeth whitening product for two weeks. Another great way to keep your teeth white is to brush and floss every day. Proper dental health will give you healthy white teeth.
If you decide to use a tooth whitening product for two weeks, what exactly should you use? With all the products on the market, selecting the right whitening product can be confusing and your may not get the teeth whitening results that you want for your smile.
Many dental experts will tell you that going to the dentist for your teeth whitening procedures is the fastest and the most effective way to whiten your teeth. But going to your dentist is not the cheapest way to whiten teeth. If you cannot afford a teeth whitening dental procedure, which would cost a few hundred dollars, your dentist can recommend a few over-the-counter dental products that will eventually whiten your teeth. Teeth whitening products that are sold in stores still have hydrogen peroxide, the same active ingredient that will whiten your teeth at the dental office.
But what are the disadvantages of using an at-home teeth whitening product? Some teeth whitening products are not made for everyone. If you have sensitive teeth, you may feel discomfort while the teeth whitening process takes place. Another disadvantage is not all whitening trays are made to fit everyone. This can lead to discomfort and/or the teeth whitening process not being effective.
Although Dr. Oz believes that teeth whitening products are perfectly safe, talk to your dentist so you can both find the perfect product for your bright smile.
